Early afternoon, departure for Ksar Ait ben haddou, a fortified village dating from the 17th century, listed and restored by Unesco. This large fortified village is a unique site, a former stopover for North African camel caravans.

To discover this magnificent valley with its breathtaking, unspoilt scenery, you’ll pass through the Ksar Ait ben haddou (fortified village), an emblematic monument of southern Morocco, dating from the 17th century and classified and restored by Unesco. Then you’re back on the road, taking time to admire the valley’s many panoramic points. Lunch with a local or picnic by the river, and a short walk in the heart of the mountains.
Stop at the Telouet kasbah (dating from the 19th century), then return to the still-active salt mine.

Discovering the gorges guarantees a change of scenery as you travel along a green valley with a wide variety of landscapes.
Starting at the Skoura oasis, where you can visit the Amridil kasbah (dating from the end of the 17th century), you’ll continue on to Kelaa M’gouna, where you’ll visit a rosewater cooperative. You’ll arrive at the Dades Gorge for lunch or a picnic by the river, followed by a walk to explore the site.
Return to Ouarzazate by the Bou Tharar road (4×4 only) and cab back along the same route.

Tinfou is the first small Erg before the desert, and is a 3-hour drive from Ouarzazate. This excursion is ideal for those who don’t have the time to go all the way to the desert – a first discovery of the magic of the desert within a day’s drive.
To reach the Tinfou dunes, you’ll follow the Draa valley and visit the valley’s many highlights: such as the ancient village of Tamnougalt and its kasbah, the potters’ village of Tamgroute and the 17th-century Koranic library. Arriving at the dunes in the late morning, you’ll enjoy a camel ride and an introduction to sand boarding, with lunch in a Berber tent.
Return to Ouarzazate in the late afternoon.

This loop joins some remarkable sites off the main tourist routes. To begin with, you’ll discover the start of the majestic Draa Valley, with its 3 million palm trees, an opportunity to take a short walk through the oasis to the village of Tamnougalt and visit the village kasbah. Picnic in the shade of the palm trees in the oasis. Continue on to Tazenakht (the town of Berber tapestry-makers), where a women’s cooperative will welcome you to discover their ancestral skills, with a Moroccan snack at one of the cooperative’s homes.
You’ll then make your way to Ouarzazate via the superb hidden oasis of Tigirt. Weather permitting, we’ll take a short walk through the oasis.
